June 30, 2014

Well it is wonderful day here in Tijuana Mexico Baja California on Monday 30 June 2014, I am pretty glad that you have a good job too. It blesses my life as well. Well this is the rise and shine routine that my comp and I do. We get up at 5:30 Monday to Friday to workout for a good hour, then Saturday and Sunday we wake up at normal time 6:30. and we go to bet at 10:30 casi all of the nights.
WHAT!!!?? you guys got smart phones? how are they? what kind? what can they do? HAVE YOU READ THE INSTRUCTION MANUEL? That is fun we have a cell fone a nokia its pretty cool you can call people and send text messages! The technology still hasn't hit this mission yet.
Jeez the Redd are just loading their summer with fun! I will be sure to have them in my prayers! Wow Bears thats the way to do it, (note from mom: Bear River basketball team doing well in the St. George camp)  The people are a little bummed about Mexico loosing, but not to bad.
Yeah I get to hear from my buds quite a bit they are all doing well!
Well we got a new Mission Pres. last Thursday, I will be able to meet him a little we have a conference this Friday with him but it is also with 50 other missionaries so it won't be anyting personal yet. Well I told you that I had an ingrown toenail, I had to go to the doctor to have it taken out, and that was not pleasant! I will send you a picture of that!
so that made it a little harder to work this week, the doctor told me I had to stay in the house for like 3 days, nope we went to do visits that night. Well I am still workin here in the city of hills and trying not to be fat and trying harder to preach the gospel! I love you dad thanks for all that you do for me!
Love,
 Elder Zundel

Well this week was a little rough... but it is going good. We are having a tough time finding new people to teach, now that Mexico isn't in the mundial I think that will help us a little.
Wow you putting in some service hours! That is good for you mom I bet that they are really grateful for your help.
Hahaha I can Imagine AJ up there singing and dancing, He is funny! (Corinne Pageant)Yeah I know sounds like the Redds have the life to have. The temple won't be done for about a year, but I think that I will be here when they dedicate it so that will be AWESOME! The mission presidente is here! Pres. Garcia, I don't know him yet but maybe soon I will get to have an interview with him.
The weather is alright here not to hot so that is good. Well I think that I could use some garmet bottoms, I am good with tops jsut a couple of bottoms. I had to buy some sports shoes this week cause it was my other shoes that gave me the ingrown toenail so hopefuly these other shoes will be better on the feet. I love you mom I love this work and I love the Lord! Love.

June 23, 2014

Yeah I see little kids and their parents and I am pretty excited to have a couple of mine own. But that won't be here for several years ha! Good to hear that you made it through the week I am pretty sure you loved every little minute of it!(note from mom: after tending Kolt, Mason and Nash) Summer is going fast well that is always how it goes isn't it? But just love every minute is all we can do right!
I want to go through the temple so bad right now! it makes me a little sad that I cant, but in a year I will go righ here in Tijuana!!! That is cool that she is going to serve, good for her! who knows what will happen with them? (note from mom: Sierra Jensen planning to serve a mission)
Well the plan stays how it was when I left, go down to SUU with Skinny and live a life full of girls, study, and God. But I need me a scholarship for SUU if you want to hook a child up with that! I have heard that it is easy to get a scholarship there. But these things will take care of themselves like Christ said tomorrow will take care of itself and we have to focus on the day that we are living.
Well things are going well here my dearest mother. Lots of walking talking and preaching. We have a goal this week to have 70 contacts, that is a lot for this mission! We will see if we cant come out of this with a lot of new people to teach!
I also know that this church is true! I know that Chist lives that he leads this church that we are guided by him in our lives because he loves us.
I love you mom!
Love,
 Elder Zundel

I am Smiling, Happy, and Enjoying the journy! Hope all is the same back home. Well I dont know for sure what happened, but I dont think it was good, I will just do what they say. Yeah I dont know what is happening with the world at all, but here in Tijuana things are really calm so no worries paps. (note from mom: talking about a new rule of no large gatherings of missionaries)
OHH a good ol' steak sounds really good, they hardly ever eat a thick steak here it is all really thin. But I am learning how to make some pretty good food to have a fiesta or two so don't worry about that.
Good to know that the Redds made it back home safe and sound I was worried about that little trip the whole week.
Well things hear are going alright, the people in this area are a little more stiff necked we try to contact people and they just send us to the goma. But last night we went to this house to have a little family home evening with a family for the first visit and it was really good, the whole family liked it a ton and were really grateful that we could get their whole family together and help them gain stronger bonds as a family. hopefuly they will progress! But other than that things are really normal. ha we have one investigator who wants to take us to Veracruz for a day or two and come back, wish we could!
Well for Pday we get to wash our clothes buy our food write the family and well yup thats about all we do ha. Yeah I hear about the world cup everyday, yeah USA is going to move on! Mexico plays today so I will find out how that goes latter on.
This week I felt really bad in the stomache so that wasn't fun at all and I have a stinkin' ingrown toenail and that bugger hurts! I am going to the DR Thursday to have it taken out.
Well I guess I am your son, and I am really Handsome, so I guess you have to be somewhat good looking, just try not to get old on me... Love You Dad! Happy Fathers Day by the way!

Elder Zundel

June 16, 2014

The week has been good, a little slow with the World Cup going on and the Fathers Day, the people here will take advantage of whatever holiday you will give them.v My comp is doing really good and it is the same Spanish. He speaks pure espanol this is like vosotros y vos and stuff like that so every once in a while it is different but it is the same language. That is cool that you had contact with that lady Yeah really there is nothing to worry about here, it is really safe. The climate is really dry and a lot like utah. ( about talking to Sister Graph from St. George whose son has been called to the Tijuana Mission) Yeah that will be quite the trip for the Redds but it will be fun for them for sure.
Keep the yard looking good! Keep those boy fed and give them lots of love.
I love you mom!
Love,
Elder Zundel

Wow that is going to be the trip for that little family, 10 miles for two little dudes is a long ways. Today my comp and I started to work out really good and tell you what I got some sore legs, we will be in pretty good shape by the time this transfer is over.
My companion and I are stacked! (before pic)
Hey how bout we go on a fishin trip some day! Yeah i would imagine that the house is pretty crazy with those three playing around all day long, good thing mom is done with school to take care of them. Yup you better got a rinding mower paps cause I will have about a week and a half in the house and then I will be in southern Utah.
Things with the comp are going really good, as long as he has someone to keep him going and being obedient there are not any problems. This week was a little rough for me though, I am a little disanimated right now cause there is not a lot going on here, and the ward is really slow not doing much work at all, and that is where we have success is when the ward works with us. Yeah but things are rollin' with the world cup! Tomorrow will be a big day here in Mexico, because they play Brazil!! Things are still going well here I think I will buy some shoes in a couple of weeks. cause if I buy them now the Hills here will just tear them apart.
I love you dad thanks for all of the support.
 Love,
Elder Zundel

Oh yeah they prohibited all of the activities that we can do in all of mexico. we can't have zone or district activities and we can't have more than 4 missionaries together at a time. I HATE THAT! but oh well the mission goes on. That means no more basketball or soccer.....

Haha mom don't worry about it I still love you, even though you don't love me enough to write me hahah just kidding. (mom's email was sent after his:( ) This week was really normal nothing new, well we did have transfers, my new comp is Elder Purisaga he is from Peru! He has 18 months in the mission and a reputacion to be a little disobedient but we will make a change to that!
That's good that they are pushing the people to get out of their comfert zone they need the push. ( Our stake mission plan, at home) Oh i am so jealious of Coop and Payton I want to do that so bad!  Havasupi Falls) I am sad to hear the lawn doesn't look so good, just get it looking good for next year! I stay in contact a little bit with the other mothers of missionaries, but not to much.
Thanks for all you do for me mother I love you.
 Love,
 Elder Zundel

That's really good to hear the Jason got a better job out there, little bit of a commute but worth it, no?
YOU JUST MAKE SURE THE BOAT IS READY TO GO IN AUGUST OF 2015! Thats a bummer that there always seems to be a problem, but usually one at the beginning of the year and the rest is good. No I am not really getting fat just flat, but I would still like some workout cds I haven't got the package yet but mom said she didn't send them. I will get the package this Friday.
That is awesome the the stake is moving the work forward! I hope that they can see some success from their efforts. I didn't get to see Taylor's invitation yet either. Really this week was really normal nothing extreme happened just normal so I don't have much to say mainly thanks for everything and I love you.!
we were going to baptize this young man but then things went down the drain with the family that he was being taught with.... sad...

An awesome family

Yeah, the weather is heating up, but it is a lot like home too. One day it will be really hot and the next is just normal. But the hills are not getting easier just so you know.
'Dr. Scholls'
We are working really hard right now to find new people and teach a lot of lessons during the week. Our goal is 40 lesson a week. No slackin around for that.
This week we saw a pretty cool miracle. So we have a family who were investigating the church and went to church like 5 to 7 times and never were baptized. So we passed by when I first got to the area, and we could hear them inside and they wouldn't answer the door, so we said nope we ain't gunna come back. But then a sister in the ward asked us to visit them with her so we went and had a good lesson with them, but after that we would go by the house and could hear them inside and they wouldn't answer the door. So we said, ya, we aren't going to come back and we cleaned our feet at their door. Then during this week we passed by the daughter (Karina) in the street and she told us that she wanted us to come by. so, ahh, we said okay, but we weren't expecting much. We go there and have an awesome lesson and we testified really powerful of the Book of Mormon and Karina accepted a baptismal date for the 19 of June! What a miracle that we found her in the street, cause we were not going to return. Well that is my story of the week.
Sounds like you guys are going to keep pretty busy with the little ball games of all of the little boys.
Ha that has got to be pretty funny. (ward story about the cats)  I really think what you guys are doing with the ward is really good. Remember that the ward looks up to and follows the example of the ward mission leader in the work of salvation.
I love you paps I will try to fight the paracites, that rhymed! Oh and could you guys send me a usb that way I can just put the fotos on a usb and dont have to use more SD cards.
 Love,
 Elder Zundel
Good tacos!

Memorial day that means no work for you?? Oh I am pretty excited to see all of the little people (nieces and nephews) they are going to be very different.  Wow last week of school,  I wish I could ge back to be honest with you haha I sound like such a looser saying that but it was a blast. (burning the couch, bad idea) Taylor Lund is so excited to get out there I am really excited for him too.

I read the forwarded emails thanks! They are both converts and really good people, thats nice to hear stuff like that! Yeah really technology is pretty awesome it will be really nice to be able to keep ion touch with all of these people.

Well hopefully the ward can grab hold of the work cause there is a lot to be done! Tell you what the mission has changed my point of view of what kind of member I want to be and will be when I get back, I like that we are in the midst of the restaracion that it wasn't finished with the fist vision of Jose Smith, but we have work to do.

Well this week 3 children of God entered the waters of baptism! It is crazy how many baptisms there are here in Mexico! the work is really moving along fast! But other than that it was a pretty normal week nothing out of ordinary happened. Oh we got to play some basketball and some dogdeball today!!! That was nice to be able to play a sport for a little bit! Dogdeball reminded me of when we would play with the pitching machine balls ha good times in scout camp!

I love you paps thanks for all you do for me.
 Love,
 Elder Zundel

HAHAHa! Kolts coment mad me laugh out loud, ( Kolt quote: "um....moms are a little better than dads, because they are smarter than dads)  ha, cause they know were my shoes are! I love those little guys, I really do worry about them a lot cause there are so dang many! Is anybody pregnant yet?  Fonsy baby! he will be a really good missionary with the work ethic that he has.(on Branson Fonnsbeck getting his mission call)

I really want to go camping, Elder Skinner sent me some fotos last week of him fishing and that made me really jealous... You are going to go to los Angeles for Julians wedding? are you going to come and see me or what???

Things are going good here we are going to eat dinner with some of our investigators tonight and we are hoping to set a baptism date for them, They are pretty ready for the gospel in there lives. But things this week were pretty chill, our goal for lecciones every week is 40 and this week we got 42 so we are working hard here in Mexico, Just hoping to see the fruits of our labors here pretty soon!

I know I am in your prayers thanks for all that you do for me mother I love you.
Love,
 Elder Zundel
